Carlita. sedia a sdraio.
Carlita è una sdraio: utilizza cinque fusti di PET tenuti insieme mediante tre
cinghie cucite ad anelli, il tutto sostenuto da una struttura in legno che si ispira
a quella delle tipiche sdraio da giardino.
L’uso dei fusti come seduta, altrimenti troppo sottili, è possibile grazie a una
chiusura ermetica del recipiente ottenuta creando un tappo di resina
epossidica colata in uno stampo direttamente sul collo del fusto. Nel tappo è
inserita una valvola recuperata da vecchie camere d'aria di bicicletta che
permette la regolazione interna della pressione dell’aria.
Il volume dei fusti non consentirebbe alla sdraio di essere richiudibile, per
questo motivo Carlita è stata pensata per essere facilmente smontata grazie
ad un sistema di viti, questo permette un trasporto più agevole.
Carlita invita ad un momento di relax in compagnia di una buona birra
ghiacciata.
Carlita è stata selezionata al concorso Drink Different Design Contest.
Carlita is a deck chair: it uses five PET drums held together by three ring
shaped belts, supported by a wooden structure inspired by the typical deck
chairs.
The use of drums as a seat is possible thanks to a hermetic enclosure
obtained by creating a seal of epoxy resin which is cast in a mold positioned
directly on the drum. A recycled bicycle valve is inserted in the seal allowing to regulate the internal air pressure.
Since the mass of the drums wouldn’t allow the chair to be closable, Carlita is
designed to be easily disassembled through a series of screws: this enables
comfortable movements.
Carlita is perfect to chill out while enjoying a nice cool beer.
